High walls and vast open spaces full of greens leading unconventionally into narrow pathways, the form of the museum is derived with the intention of creating an everlasting experience trail as comfortable as can be – while driving home the consequences of war. The attempt to invade the least upon the site and its existing environment has been fairly successful as 90% of the existing green cover has been retained. The road cutting through the middle of the site has been relocated to the north to create a seamless pedestrian avenue intersected by a plazas. At the very root, the concept of the design is to move from open to built, rather than to develop an open area as a by product of the building design.
